The Latest Shows We've Recorded

Wednesday, January 30, 2008

The Latest Developments On's Live Music Archive had been having some problems with its servers during November and December. They seem to have gotten most of those issues addressed although things seem to be a little slower during high traffic times (evenings in North America) but rest assured things are working just fine. Anyway, one notable new-to-the-LMA-band is getting some shows loaded up there that you might be interested in. That band is the Gourds from right here in Austin.

Here's the link for the Gourds page on archive.

If you're looking for a show recommendation or two..

Also, I wanted to mention that a few new-to-LMA shows have been uploaded for Dale Watson with more on the way.

Here are the links to the shows.

Corb Lund @ The Saxon Pub

Here's a nice 75 minute set from Alberta's favorite son, Corb Lund and his band the Hurtin' Albertans at Austin's Saxon Pub recently. If you haven't heard the new record, it's great and they band does a bunch of tracks from it and really does a great range of tunes covering Corb's records. Pay attention for the 'lost verse' during the version of "Horse Soldier, Horse Soldier" on this show....if you have the record (of the same name) you'll recognize the 'lost verse' as the one that fades out at the end of the song...glad to have it in all it's completeness somewhere.

Onion Creek Crawdaddies @ The Continental Club

If you haven't checked out the Onion Creek Crawdaddies yet, give them boys a chance. Rock solid Americana, bluegrass and country from Austin, TX. Check out this show in particular for some great covers including Tom Petty's "Apartment Song" and Gram Parsons' "Blue Eyes" as well as a bunch of their own excellent original material. Enjoy.
