Some New, Some Old

Been a slow summer here in Austin. The mercury touching triple digits every day has presumably been keeping a lot of folks away. Not much in the way of (OKOM) touring acts coming through with the exception of Scott Miller (audio of his Cactus show) a few others that we weren't able to attend.

Some of the shows we have been able to attend included the Brock Zeman (Canadiana), Flatcar Rattlers (bluegrass), Roger Alan Wade (of Jackass notoriety), Austin Homegrown (local country/blues/reggae rockers), The Memphis Strange (former Stillwater Pioneers rocking it up) and the Happen-Ins (former Dedringer Sean Faires' new group). Here's the recordings from some of their performance.

The Flatcar Rattlers: 2009.07.03 at Jovita's
The Memphis Strange: 2009.07.16 at Stubb's BBQ

Also, next Monday (August 3rd) will the latest installment of the Mean Eyed Cat Songwriter Night featuring host Lew Card, Ramsay Midwood, Jacob Jaeger and Johnny Dango. You can check out the audio from the last songwriter night at the link below.

[FairRetailRecordings] #0001 -- The Flatcar Rattlers -- Redneck Hippie

Hey, gang. I'm going to start putting out a weekly mp3 (or possibly more frequently) of some of the live music that gets recorded in and around Austin. Some of it will be from my recordings, some of it will be from the recordings of others.

Let me know if you want off the list or want a friend added or want this sent to a different email address. By the by, gmail is now up to 7 gigs of free storage. FYI.

All that said, here's the first installment.
